Sips N Strokes
My friends and I have discovered a place in Birmingham that holds classes for painting. They provide all of the materials needed, all you have to do is show up. They have a different painting each day of the week, and an instructor that helps you create a masterpiece. It is really fun! I have been twice with my friend Stephanie, but I am trying to get Brad to go. I think he would actually like it once he was there. Here is a pic of what I painted last night. Just glance at it quickly...you won't see all of the mistakes! ;-)
*~*SNOW*~*
When we woke up this morning there was snow everywhere!! So... of course we had to take a lot of pictures, have a snowball fight, and try to sled down a hill. Just so you know, only two were successful! We couldn't get our big bodies to slide down the hill. I actually slipped trying to push Brad down the hill and he ended up just pushing me around. :) It was fun while it lasted, now it is all melted away! But, here are some pictures for you to enjoy.

Fireproof
Brad and I watched Fireproof on Friday, and I have to say it is amazing! The acting is pretty bad, but the storyline is great. It depicts an average marriage that is on the brink of divorce. In the movie, the husband is given a book called The Love Dare by his father. This book leads you through daily devotionals and simple acts of love/love dares for your spouse. The forty day journey teaches you what love is and how to love. This book is not only for marriages in a crisis, but for all marriages, and I recommend it to everyone. Brad and I happened to received The Love Dare book for Christmas from Brad's parents. So, after watching the movie, we have decided to start our forty day journey through The Love Dare. Today is our second love dare, which is showing a random act of kindness. I have already learned a lot about love, and I am looking forward to "Fireproofing" our marriage! Her is a link to learn more about the movie and The Love Dare Book. http://vimeo.com/1040955
Again, I ask for prayers as we begin this adventure! Love to all!

Let the Journey Begin
Well, I have had a number of family members and friends request that I begin a blog. I have never been great at "blogging' my life, but I am going to try! I think it is a great idea and a great way to keep in touch with friends and family.
Just a little update on Brad: Brad is currently in his last semester at The University of Alabama. He is doing his student teaching in 11th grade at a great High School in Tuscaloosa. He was very fortunate to get the subject he had spent most of his undergrad studying- U.S History. He is really enjoying it! I have enjoyed seeing how much he truly enjoys teaching. He has not been very thrilled that he has three different classes to teach-An Advanced class, an AP, and a Graduation Exam Review class. I like to give him a hard time though by telling him that I have to plan for all subjects!!! :) Brad would really like to get involved in coaching, just right now his time is consumed with school.
Just a little update on Sarah:I recently graduated from The University of Alabama and have been searching for teaching positions. I knew it was going to be hard finding a teaching position in January, but with this economic crisis we are in, it has been harder than I imagined. I spent most of the last semester in school looking for jobs in Gwinnett County in Georgia. I was planning on attending two job fairs this month, but they have canceled them due to the lack of funds to hire new teachers. It has been extremely frustrating! I feel like every time something is on the right track and looking good, I hit a dead end. Brad and I have recently decided to look for positions in the Houston, Texas area. I have started applying online to multiple school districts there. We both are planning on going to about 4 jobs fairs in March and April. Other than searching for jobs, I have been substituting in local elementary schools. I even made my own magnet business cards! :)
Well, during the next few months there are going to be a lot of changes in our lives. We are very excited to find out where we will be and to have our own classrooms! We ask that you pray for us to have patience, understanding, and faith to know that God will provide!
